the productive gear of the country faces
several disadvantages, however, there are
state programs and legislation that supports
this sector, encouraging companies that show
labor openness to them. This segment of the
population faces conditions of socioeconomic
vulnerability such as poverty, unemployment,
forced migration and violence that have
worsened over the years. However, efforts
are being made by different actors to expand
their opportunities and improve their quality
of life. State institutions such as the Ministry
of Labor and Social Welfare, National Youth
Institute (INJUVE) and others are currently
focusing their efforts on providing young
people with assistance, job orientation and
training, as well as helping to link job supply
and demand for the benefit of this sector of
the nation (National Youth Institute, INJUVE,
El Salvador, 2014). The main objective of this
work is to analyze the factors that influence
access to employment for young people in
the department of San Miguel. Specifically, to
identify their socioeconomic conditions in
order to verify if those who work satisfy the
expectations of the business sector and thus
verify if the state policies of social and labor
integration really contribute to the use of
youth employment opportunities. The
methodological approach used is descriptive
and analytical; the information was collected
through sampling aimed at young people
between the ages of 16 and 29, employers
and their academic and technical trainers.
